I'm a tea freak and am ever-so-happy!

I'm a tea freak and am ever-so-happy that I have this place nearby to indulge my dependency. The staff are not the warmest people ever, but they know their tea and they always hook me up with some good stuff without aggressive sales tactics or up-sells like at Teavana. My fave teas (so far) from Tin Roof are the Assam Namdang and the Yunnan Pu-erh (great with milk or cream). The East Frisian Broken Blend is also good. Their Russian Samovar was a little weak for me, but I have the Russian Caravan now and it's great (if you can handle a smoky and more manly tea.) I've also found lovely Chinese and Japanese green teas here, and I recently picked up a Detox tea sampler, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I never put any sugar in my tea and I tend toward the bitter and herbal flavors, but there are plenty of fruity teas and tisanes and blends here as well plus nice teapots, honey, and related gadgets. There is something for everyone!

Highly, highly recommend.

I really cannot say enough good things about Tin Roof Teas. They are an absolute gem in the Triangle. There are very few tea shops in the US that have the selection, the depth, the knowledge, and the customer service that these guys have.

The owners really know their stuff, and their enthusiasm for tea is infectious. They never make you feel dumb for not knowing something, and they're always willing to explain in more detail if you have a particular question. The first time I went into the shop, I nearly spent 2 hours there, viewing, smelling, and learning about dozens of their teas.

Their selection is so much better than Teavana it's almost silly, and they never try to upsell me or get me to buy something other than what I'm interested in. I even talked about buying a new teapot from them only to have them say, "you know, the one you already have is probably fine." Their prices are really great, and again, their service is top-notch.

The first thing I did when I moved to Raleigh was find the closest local tea shop. Tin Roof Teas is everything I wanted in a tea shop. The space itself is gorgeous - easy to get to, well-lit, really inviting. The staff knows its stuff, too - the first time I went in, Husband Guy had some allergy issues, and they recommended a tea that tastes great and worked better than Sudafed at clearing out his nose.

I've been in a few times since then, to replace a few standards in my stock that had gone low or to grab a drink running errands, and every time I do, I have great conversations with the staff, including one with Ryan about the woes of getting the honey bar set up. I can't wait to see it now that its first station is up and running!

I'm in as often as I can and I'm so happy to have a really first-class local tea shop in the area.

I love the quality of teas at Tin Roof Teas. Today I enjoyed a sample bar of different local honey. It was wonderful and educational. I haven't found a higher quality tea shop in the RTP area!

If you love tea this is the place to go !!!! Summer is so knowledgable and friendly. Cameron Village is very unique!
